Cerrado del Castillo is only made when the harvest achieves the maximum expression of the terroir and in addition has total balance.

This only happens in exceptional years in wich the growing conditions were right for obtaining a harvest with perfect ripeness.

It is a wine made from 35-year-old tempranillo vines grown in the walled enclosure of the castle.

After strict selection of the clusters and after completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine is kept in casks in the castle basement where it is left for approximately 24 months.

It is a red wine with an intense black-cherry colour and intense, elegant aromas. Its balance and persistent aromatic bouquet make it a long wine with a lot of flavour and a lovely finish. It reveals a sensory character which cannot be matched and which faithfully reflect its roots.
