Cerrado del Castillo

Cerrado del Castillo is only made in exceptional cases when the harvest reaches the maximum expression of “terroir” and perfect balance is achieved.

This only happens in outstanding years, until now only in 2001 and 2004, when the climate is ideal for obtaining a perfectly matured harvest.

This unique wine is made from the fruit of a 35 year old Tempranillo vineyard located within the Castillo walled estate.

After a rigorous selection of the bunches and after alcohol fermentation, the wine is transferred to barrels in the castle’s cellar where it rests for approximately 18 months.

Deep Picota cherry in colour with intense and elegant aromas. It stands out for its balance and aromatic persistence in the mouth resulting in a long wine with complex flavours and a pleasant finish. It has inimitable sensory characteristics that are genuine in their origin.
